You will be the first junior Java developer in our Sofia office. As part of our development team, you will work directly with the senior developers.

Development of new features in our suite of products.
Influence and co-architect the systems and application landscape.
Shape features from requirements gathering to delivery.

You are expected to do some self-study, ask questions, and get feedback from your colleagues so you quickly pick up the necessary skills and attitude to move from a newbie to a regular contributor to our systems running in production.
Relevant university degree or a last year student (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, etc.). SoftUni, Telerik Academy or similar are also okay as long as you fulfill the other criteria below.
Strong computer science knowledge (Algorithms, Data Structures, RDBMS and SQL concepts).
Working knowledge and understanding of the Java language as well as some exposure to Java tools and frameworks such as Spring Boot and Maven.
Previous experience with software engineering concepts such as Object-Oriented Programming, Microservices, CI/CD, or willingness to quickly pick them up along the way.
For this position we value highly the ability and motivation to learn new concepts quickly and this can compensate if you lack knowledge about a particular tool or framework.
Past internship(s), full-time work experience, and exposure to how things can be organized in an IT company (i.e. What is Scrum methodology?) is a plus.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work responsibly in a dynamic international environment. Fluency in English.
Eligible to work in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Ability to work on exciting projects at the intersection of information technology and finance. Cooperation with and exposure to various divisions in Sofia and Zurich, such as Business Development, DevOps, Natural Language Processing, Software Development, Quantitative Engineering.
Flat hierarchy and management with strong technical experience, open to new ideas and meaningful experiments, and looking towards developing people.

Reasonable working hours. One day of home office per week. Five weeks (25 days) of holidays.
